Little dipper skims as a
skipped stone down the river
flashing white like a camera,
bib giving it away;
feathers glib over water –
all glide and no falter –
elides with the river:
blending away.

Lovely Kylie, there’s some beautiful alliteration in the first couple of lines, then I love the rhyme of bib and glib. You’ve really captured the bobbing energy of this little bird.
